World Trade Center Hub

World Trade Center Hub

Installed by Nicholson Construction, Con-Tech Systems Ltd. supplied nearly 1,000 tiebacks to anchor the new east bathtub railroad basement walls for the reconstruction of the new World Trade Centre Hub in New York City, NY.  This hub will form an underground connection between the World Financial Center and the Fulton Street Transit Center.  The 1000 tiebacks installed were comprised of 700 Strand and 300 Solid Bars.  Primarily 22 strands in size and up to a length of 170 feet each of these anchors represent approximately 60,000 linear feet of drilling.

Con-Tech Systems' work began in the spring of 2006.  Various logistic challenges faced the team as the job progressed including extremely difficult site access as well as limited space availability.  After meeting the difficult demands of the project our work was completed in the spring of 2008.
