Tom Miller Dam
Description:
CTS/TITAN Stitch Anchors for Spillway Erosion Protection
Tom Miller Dam, Austin Texas, USA
The Lower Colorado River Authority, LCRA, is renting this dam, which was originally constructed in 1938, from the city of Austin in Texas, It is a masonry Dam which was originally designed as a flood control. In 1940 the dam was repaired with a concrete cap. At the same time a power house was added.
Newest investigations revealed that the dam was undermined and the safety factor is too low. As a result post-tensioned class-1 strand anchors were installed in the dam and Titan IBO stitch Anchors were installed in the spill way. This was completed in 2003.
