CTS Rock- and Soil anchors are the current state of practice in the Geo-Support field. Our innovative solutions and systems have been widely accepted by Geotechnical-, Civil- and Structural Engineers as well as Governmental Agencies and Private Owners.

CTS has focused most of his developments improving Strand- and Bar-Anchor systems, i.e. corrosion protection and permanent monitoring.

Strand Anchors

Technical Data Sample Anchor Designs Sample Anchor Head Design Accessories

Applications:

Tie Down & Tie Back Anchors in rock and solid grounds
(permanent & temporary)

Features:

High Strength, Very Flexible, Very Ductile

Corrosion Protection:

None, Class II (Single), Class I (Multiple)

Confectioning:

Single Strand, Multiple Strand
(no theoretical limit, largest anchor manufactured: 60 Strand)

Length:

No theoretical Limit

Advantages:

  • Only small storage and assembly areas required
  • Shop fabrication of corrosion protection
  • High yield point (1570 N/mm2=227 ksi)
  • Low E-modulus (200,000 N/mm2=29,000 ksi)
  • Inherent redundancy due to more than one tension element
  • Installation under extremely tight space conditions possible

Max. Design Loads:

  • Ground Anchors: 160 kN=36 kips - 2400 kN=540 kips
  • Rock Anchors: 156.4 kN=35.2kips (per strand)

Material:

meets the ASTM A-416 Specifications

(permanent & temporary)

Features:

  • Weldable (Mukusol Bar)
  • Very ductile
  • (All)-Thread Bars

Corrosion Protection:

None, Class II (Single), Class I (Double)

Confectioning:

Diameters: 5/8" (15 mm) to 2 1/2" (64 mm)

Length:

Length: Custom specification, Bars can be coupled

Injection Bore (IBO) TITAN Anchors

Technical Data Sample Anchor Designs Sample Anchor Head Design Accessories

Applications:

Micro Piles Soil Nails, Tie Down & Tie Back Anchors in difficult ground conditions like weathered and decomposed rock, round gravel, sand and clayey soils (permanent & temporary)

Features:

  • Utilization of steel drill as anchor.
  • Economically priced on-time use drill rod and drill bit.
  • Utilization of the steel drill as grouting conduit for filling. the annulus from the bottom up.
  • Choices of high quality steel.
  • Titan-INOX ferritic-austenitic stainless steel for permanent anchors with a life span of 50 years and more.
  • Threads on the rods are formed much like the ribs on a reinforcing bar (fabricated according to DIN 488).
  • Continuous threads guarantee the IBO-Titan anchor can be cut or coupled anywhere along its length.

Corrosion Protection:

Single, Double

Length:

Single IBO-Titan rods are generally 3 m in length.

There is no principal limit to anchor length; rods can be coupled until the desired length is reached.

Advantages:

  • No cased in boring.
  • Minimal space requirements for installation.
  • Installation technique adapts well to awkward shapes.
  • High grout pressures can be achieved.
  • Improved anchoring capacities and reduced settlement.
  • Minimum grout cover, maximum corrosion protection
  • Higher shear resistance than a solid rod of same cross section
  • Very economical

Design Loads:

34.6 kips (154 kN) - 544.6 kips (2422 kN)

Standard Stock Items:

IBO-Titan 30/16, R32/20, R38/17 40/20 40/16 73/53 (outer/inner Diameter in mm).

Certificates:

The Material has been tested by the Bundesamt fuer Materialforschung (BAM, Federal Goverment Institute for Material Research) Berlin, Germany. Report No. 1.3/12279 dd. 9. 6. 1992 on corrosion resistance of IBO-Titan INOX anchors.
